Upon the referral of a friend I made an appointment to meet Chris the weekend before Thanksgiving. I’ve seen my weight as high as 220 pounds and with only a few months before my 30th birthday, I was eager to get out of my couch potato rut once and for all. I’ve since been training with Chris, about three days a week for last 18 weeks. Unlike the many other personal trainers I’ve worked with I have seen immediate results, an 8% reduction in body fat, down 30 pounds, and a total of 22.5 inches all across my body. I don’t know what it is about the exercises we do, but the sessions he designs are much more intense and productive than anything I’ve ever experienced with any of the trainers I’ve hired through the “jumbo” gyms I’ve been a member of. While I’ve changed my lifestyle, nothing I’m doing has been drastic, I don’t feel like I’m making sacrifices and going without, he’s taught me about moderation and just to be smart. So whatever it is in his magic formula, HE GETS RESULTS. Chris isn’t your typical meat head trainer, having run his own studio for decades he knows his stuff, unlike typical jumbo gym trainers he doesn’t have a superficial knowledge of his craft but rather his knowledge base is wide and deep. Not to mention, Chris is a nice person to spend three hours a week with. He’s honest, flexible, understanding, but also results-driven – particularly towards my couch potato tendencies. I had the pleasure of working out at Body Quest 1 on 1 with Chris 4 days a week for 3 months to get in shape for Derby. At that time, I was pretty frustrated with the gym. I worked out daily but never saw results. I was the Queen of Cardio & would park it on an elliptical at my gym for 90 minutes, 6 days a week. I hit a plateau & could never seem to figure out how to get results on my own, even though i was ALWAYS in the gym. Chris taught me that less is more, and that you needed to change it up. He made work outs FUN. One minutes we’re boxing & sparring, toning using cables, and push ups on a suspended bar bell, then we’re doing Cirque du Soleil type moves using TRX & cables. I was astonished at the results. Chris taught me not to look at the scale, but to go by INCHES lost. In 28 years I’d always stared at the scale, then I’d get frustrated & give up. With Chris i lost 5 inches in my waist in 3 weeks. For me…..that was a BIG DEAL. He turned me into a believer & got me off my “Cardio Only” mentality. He taught me moves that I now can do in the gym, to mix it up. I Would highly recommend Chris to anyone at any fitness level.
I love working out with Chris at BodyQuest. He challenges me to try things I never thought I could do. I started working out with him again mid January and have already lost 13 1/2 pounds, 2 inches in my waist & thighs and feel much stronger. Each workout makes me feel stronger and gives me more energy. Working out with Chris makes the workouts more focused unlike walking around a gym wondering what to do next or spending countless hours on a treadmill walking no where fast. He has also helped me figure out my workouts at home so when I am not in his studio I am still getting a great workout.
AWESOME! We all have different body shapes and different places our body stores fat and he took care of exactly what I wanted/needed to be toned. We also did cardio and full body workouts and not only am I stronger, I feel GREAT after working out, I quit smoking and the way I look after just a few weeks is literally amazing. He really knows what he is doing and cares about what he does. You just cant beat the price for the amazing/fast results… Would recommend him to anyone!!
I started training with Chris in 2010, and within weeks I lost several pounds and inches and was stronger than I ever thought possible. I had always been afraid of the gym, but Chris patiently guided me and tailored each workout to meet my personal goals. It’s been three years, and he still finds ways to keep me motivated (and sore). He never raises his voice, is always positive, and calmly says “yes, you can” when I get whiny. Not only does he provide amazing workouts each week, but he has given me the knowledge and confidence to continue training outside of his studio. I lost inches fast! Chris knows exactly how to make you lose where you need to and not where you don’t. I was able to keep an absolutely feminine body while increasing my strength, tone and cardio fitness. It took what seemed like no time at all to get the results I was looking for! Working out at body quest was awesome, if you give it your all there is no doubt in my mind you won’t achieve your goals. Being able to go there allowed me to get stronger and healthier and works better than any pill or drug you can buy to make your life a happier one. Be prepared to work hard but the benefits are worth it.
Chris tailors my workout to specifically suit my needs. Have been training with him since 01Dec2012 and have lost 25 lbs and toned up quite alot. 60 Min with Chris is all we do 3 days a week but he does work me as hard as I can stand it and its just what I needed. He also changes up my routines so my body doesn’t get used to the same ol stuff and by changing routines that kicks up my metabolism alot. I used to spend 2 to 2/12 hours in a gym working hard without trainer guidance and only saw improvement in my cardio,,,training with Chris has resulted in excellent toning results,,,excellent cardio stamina and significant weight loss. I would highly reccommend to anyone that is serious about physical training to sign up with Body Quest and give Chris the opportunity to show you a interesting and challenging workout.
Chris is a great personal trainer with a great knowledge of different programs to help you achieve your goals. He was able to craft a program for me that really helped me with diet and exercise and even gave me tips on how to do a great workout while I am on the road.
Chris does an amazing job. He taylored a program for me to bring the best results. I lost inches in my waist and my arms felt firm for the first time in my life.
All the trainers there are friendly, professional, and will definitely give you an amazing workout. I had gone to local gyms and used their personal training, but Bodyquest is so much better. I don’t feel all weird bc of so many other people there, and it is on my time when I’m free in the day. The strength I’ve gained also helps me with my line of work. The benefits are amazing, and love that Chris and his staff believes how important health is to everyone and they do a great job getting us all into shape!

Okay, so what is it really going to take to be successful at fat loss? Well, I have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years as a professional trainer and I have seen it all- from late night infomercials, to fad diets and dangerous weight loss pills. I have studied exercise science and nutrition in college and obtained many different National certifications and no matter how many different methods that I have tried I always come back to the same answer: sweat more and eat less. Most of you can see the logic in this and it seems pretty simple right? Well it is and isn’t. To really work, a program has to be simple. Problem is, human beings tend to do the exact opposite — we over-analyze things and make them hard. Here’s a statistic for you: self-directed fat loss programs fail a staggering 98% of the time.
Over the last year I have been doing a lot of thinking, analyzing my own methods and doing case studies on my personal clients. I have found that the clients that come to me just three hours a week CONSISTENTLY and follow just 5 simple rules for eating better (I said better, not PERFECT) have consistently lost on average 12-15lbs per month and kept it off. Not only that, they have on average gained 1-2lbs of pure muscle (FAT BURNING POTENTIAL) per month and feel stronger and better than they have ever felt. You see, most trainers will recommend a strict diet that is very restrictive and limits the foods and drinks that you enjoy. I am not saying that this method is wrong or won’t produce fat loss. They are healthy and over time you will lose fat. But in my 20 plus years I have used that same diet advice strategy for many of my clients and it never fails- the client either can’t keep up with it, feels like a failure and in the end gives up or they do it for awhile, lose a little weight and inevitably gain it all back when they go back to their old habits.
As a professional fitness and nutrition coach this has frustrated me. So I came up with a much better approach. My approach is based on multiple exercise strategies plus 5 simple rules for eating better that have been proven as most effective for my clients. I looked at the science behind these approaches ( I won’t bore you with details) and thought how I could make them even more effective. Over the last three months I applied this new strategy and I have never seen such amazing changes in my clients! All of them have agreed that although the workouts are hard they have not deprived themselves of foods they enjoy or even the occasional drink after work with friends. COMPREHENSIVE FITNESS AND HEALTH SCREENING PROGRAM
On your first session, your trainer will provide you with a Health History and Goal Setting Questionnaire to evaluate your current health and set achievable goals. Your trainer will also provide a full evaluation of your nutrition, overall posture, cardiovascular endurance, reactive & balance abilities, core stability, and flexibility to ensure you are on the right track toward achieving your goals.
On your second session, your trainer will take you through a workout and expose you to flexibility, self myo-facial release, and corrective exercises based on your initial assessments.
Training is done at our Fitness Studio on Main St, not a typical gym….meaning you won’t get a typical workout. All participants are working with a Personal Fitness Trainer. We offer 60 minute and 30 minute sessions, and you can work out one-on-one or share the session with someone else. We also offer small group bootcamp style workouts a couple of times per day.
